it’s more of a russian thing. since religion was banned before, everyone made New Year’s the BIG DEAL. so even russian christians who celebrate Christmas still make New Years the major holiday.

i’m also not religious and sometimes i open 1 present on xmas just for fun but we get parties and feasts on dec. 31 with our russian community and presents on New Years day. so like the same thing you guys do on christmas minus the church and jesus but at the end of the year. c:
